Effective March 1st 2010

Swimming pool service technicians performing repairs requiring electrical connections must be licensed by the state of Texas. Repairs such as installing a new pump or replacing a motor, blower, relay, printed circuit board, etc. must be performed by a licensed professional. Swimming pool service technicians are required to have a Residential Appliance Installer license. In addition, the service company they work for must be a licensed Residential Appliance Installer Contractor.

Miracle Pool Service, Inc. was one of the first swimming pool service companies in Texas to be issued a Residential Appliance Installer Contractors license
(TICL 196).

How can you identify licensed professionals and companies? Service technicians should be able to show you a license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation identifying them as a Residential Appliance Installer. Swimming pool service company vehicles should have the company's contractor license number clearly printed on both sides of the vehicle. You can also verify licensing by going to the TDLR website: www.license.state.tx.us/licenseSearch/.
